THE CYCLING CLIMBS OF EAST ANGLIA
Woolley Hill

Difficulty: 4/5
Location: Woolley, Huntingdon
Length: 0.3km
Height Gain: 24m
Average gradient: 8%

Woolley Hill is a dead straight 300m ramp reaching a maximum gradient of nearly 20%. It can be seen from the junction with the A14 and appears to be a wall. The view from the top is about as impressive as it gets in Cambridgeshire but to reach it requires a very nasty 45 seconds of climbing. The road is beautifully peaceful as you roll towards your obstacle. The closer you get, the more intimidating it looks until you suddenly feel your front wheel lift and you begin to click down your gears. The road steepens every pedal revolution until you are forced out of the saddle. Reach the top, turn around and survey the view.
