THE CYCLING CLIMBS OF EAST ANGLIA
Telegraph Lane

Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Norwich
Length: 0.5km
Height Gain: 38m
Average gradient: 8%

If you live in East Anglia and enjoy steep slopes then Norwich is the place to go. Wherever you go, you will find an undulating topography that can be very fun to ride in. The toughest hill that I am aware of is Gas Hill but, at 200m, it is little more than a novelty. Its counterpart, Telegraph Lane, is easier but has more of the feel of a climb about it – it is twice as long. Leaving the A1242, the gradient ramps up to its 16% maximum. Push over this then return to your saddle and grind up the 10% slope to a plateau. Here you drop down steeply before one more upward ramp of 10% to the real summit. Now head to Gas Hill.
