THE CYCLING CLIMBS OF EAST ANGLIA
Station Road

Difficulty: 4/5
Location: Wixoe, Haverhill
Length: 0.7km
Height Gain: 34m
Average gradient: 5%

This little climb is full of character. Leaving the Stour valley off the A1017, it is immediately tough, about 9%. Regain your breath over this first lump as there is much more to come. Climb through a short residential segment and then on between a pair of brick walls, the gradient never backing off for long. Out of the houses and the climb toughens slightly, the road hemmed in by two grassy banks. These are then replaced by dark woodland. Finally, prepare for a grand finale – a fantastic 13% bend for you to enjoy.
