THE CYCLING CLIMBS OF EAST ANGLIA
Heydon

Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Heydon
Length: 4.1km
Height Gain: 107m
Average gradient: 3%

At 140m, this ridge is the highest point in East Anglia and to reach it requires 4 kilometres of unbroken ascending, albeit mostly on a less than testing gradient. The first 2 kilometres barely exceed 2% but I've included them in order to boast an altitude gain of over 100m! After rounding a left hand bend at about halfway, the climb becomes more testing. The next kilometre is completely straight and steepens as you progress until you finally reach a bend at a 7% apex. Keep pushing on through the tough gradient and look over your right for a stunning view. The remaining 700m are little trouble.
